In Sport all units will be internally assessed during the course and there are no external examinations. The course will be suited to pupils who have a passion for sport and who enjoy not only the participation but also enjoy finding out more about relevant elements of sport; e.g. how to improve fitness, how to design a training program and how this would relate to specific sports.
As the course will cover set modules there will be no end exam. The course will be evaluated through assignments within the two years. Participants who successfully pass all modules will achieve the equivalent of two GCSE grades A* C.
The course has been developed to provide participants with a route into further study of a sporting nature. The obvious progression would be to undertake the next level in the BTEC Sports program – Level 3.
